Topic:
PHP for System i: What to do after you say “Hello, world”

Description:
How do System i programmers define "being useful"?
Accessing and modifying data in the database, that's how.  In this presentation I will demonstrate some simple ways to use PHP to perform useful tasks, give basic information on the language itself, and provide resources for those who wish to learn more, from the perspective of a busy RPG programmer who doesn’t have a lot of time to spend learning something new on the job.

Presentor:
Larry Farmer is a Systems Analyst and RPG programmer at Michigan State University. He has worked on the AS/400 and follow-on platforms since 1988, and has dabbled in web-design and -programming since the mid 1990's. He has been playing around with PHP for several years, but has only been serious about it since the Zend i5/os version became available.
